How long have you worked at Petteril Bank Primary School?
This is my first year at PB and my first year as a teacher. I am so excited to begin my teaching journey and to be part of the Petteril Bank family.
What would the children be surprised to find out about you?
I love being outdoors and getting stuck into an adventure! I’ve completed a muddy obstacle course for charity and even walked 13 miles to raise money. I love challenging myself and trying new things!
What makes a ‘good’ day at Petteril Bank Primary School?
For me, a good day is when I see lots of happy faces, hear plenty of laughter and watch the children get excited about their learning. I love the little moments when a child surprises themselves with what they can do. If the children go home happy, feeling proud of themselves and excited to come back tomorrow, I know it’s been a good day!
What is the best thing about being a teacher?
The best thing about being a teacher is seeing the special “lightbulb moment” when a child finally achieves something they have worked so hard for. Being able to share in their excitement and see how proud they are of themselves is so rewarding, no matter how big or small the accomplishment.
What wisdom would you pass on to the children in your class?
There is nothing you can’t do if you put your mind to it. Believe in yourself, keep trying and never give up!
