We are celebrating following our most recent Ofsted inspection, which recognised the significant progress made at Petteril Bank School and confirmed that we meet the expected standard across all areas, with particular strengths in behaviour and attendance.
Inspectors praised the school’s strong leadership, positive culture and nurturing environment, highlighting the transformation that has taken place in recent years.
The inspection concluded that leaders have “completely turned around the fortunes of the school” and created a calm, purposeful environment where pupils can thrive.
The published report is filled with positive reflections about our school’s work, with inspectors highlighting:

Inspectors also recognised the strength of the school’s inclusive approach, noting that pupils receive “extensive” and “highly tailored” support, helping all children feel safe, valued and able to succeed.
The report highlights the improvements made across the school, including the development of a well-designed curriculum, a positive start in early years and a growing range of opportunities for pupils beyond the classroom.
Inspectors concluded that Petteril Bank School is a place where pupils are supported to thrive, with strong relationships, high expectations and a clear focus on continuous improvement.
